We Are Sisyphus
9/23/23
I sight the tale of sisyphus a man who is punished to carry a rock up a mountain for it to roll back down to repeat again. This is what life is in essence filled with mountains or things we must overcome without end. You may complete a goal or reach a new status but that only brings about more challenges to conquer. A Good Life is one of enduring through our Sisyphus complex by loving the process of life and not seeing it as a punishment.
When it comes to fulfilling ones destiny it is our own responsibility. We must break through our enchained mindset that tells us our endeavors are punishments, that make us run away to pleasures that amount to a life half-lived. Our dreams are our rock that we must keep pushing but unlike Sisyphus we are not alone.
Whether it be directly or indirectly the foundations of a dream brought to life or a destiny being fulfilled is other people. Think about your life up until now and recall those key moments when a hand was held out to help you. When someone spoke to you and gave you the advice you didn’t know you needed. Think about the relationships you have with your colleagues, friends, and family and think of what they bring to your life. All those small impacts significantly have made your journey a bit easier to endure.
This also can be reversed as people are also the foundations of dreams dying and destiny's unfulfilled. Think of people in your life you had to let go and release yourself from. Think of the people in your life now that bring you nothing but pessimism and more negativity. All these people make your life harder to endure with their incessant pressure.
If you want to fulfill your dreams and personal destiny surround yourself with likeminded individuals who are charting their personal journey’s or already amidst theirs. We are in control of the relationships we have and create and if we don’t realize the power of people we will either fail by trying to standalone or by never expanding our horizons due to our attachments to nostalgic relationships.
